TIPS/SUGGESTIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS (Hunters)
These tips/suggestions come from many many years of experience... of course, they are only a suggestions.
- REMEMBER, this is SUPPOSE to be fun!!!!
WHAT TO BRING...
- Bring what is "required"... the planners listed it on the flyer for a reason, usually.
- Don't forget the basics... pens, paper, flashlights, tape, etc... never know what you might need or might help.
IN YOUR VEHICLE, WITH YOUR TEAM ...
- READ!!! Read the info/directions provided before the rally. Read the clues carefully. Most mistakes happen because you didn't read something.
- If you are confused... ask the planners if you can. They want you to have a good experience too!
- Work as a team... that is why you decided to participate, together.
- Divide and conquer... "you work on the bottom up, I'll work on the top down..."
- TALK!!! If you have an idea or see something that might help, speak up. It might help the others too.
- Help the driver when moving. Remember they have ALOT to do and we all know they drive carefully... right?!?!?
SOLVING CLUES...
- Be observant... even a dot, mark, line, mispelling "might" have a meaning in solving the clue.
- You might have to convert numbers to letters or vice versa... 1=a, 2=b, 3=c or something similar.
- Seeing something like 6/15 is NOT a fraction... it often means the 6th item, 15th letter or something like that.
- When you have enough solved to know where to go... GO!!! Finish the clue, if needed, while moving!!
- If your spending more than 15-20 minutes on a clue, you may be spending too much and need to move on or ask for help.
- On way to final destination, recheck that you have all your clues, answers, info and/or anything else you need to turn in.
THE MOST IMPORTANT TIP...
- BE NICE TO THE PLANNERS at the final destination. They worked hard to try to make this an enjoyable event for everyone.... and EVERYONE can make mistakes.
Again, HAVE FUN!!!
